Used graphic application:
Adobe Photoshop 7.0
When moving the cursor above the image on the left - the image before the processing appears.
The photo used in this tutorial comes from the site: www.buy-photo.eu
This is the third part of the “Pimp my face”. We’ll take up false eyelashes pinning.
In this tutorial you’ll learn:
Before you start, you have to install required brushes that are imitating eyelashes for your Photoshop copy.
For this tutorial I’ve downloaded them from site: www.obsidiandawn.com/eyelashes-photoshop-gimp-brushes.
If you don’t know how to install them - read: How to install brushes in Photoshop.
If you have brushes installed - let’s start.
1. Open the Photoshop program.
2. Open the photo purposed to processing.
Choose File » Open from main menu, or press Ctrl + O keys
...or by double clicking the left mouse button on the dark grey application background.
3. Zoom the eye using the Zoom Tool
.
Choose the Brush Tool
(B) from toolbox.
In the tool property menu - set the Opacity value to 100%. As a foreground colour choose black. Now it’s time to choose installed brushes. You already know how to do this, so get to work. For the reminder - preview
4.Create the new layer at which we’ll draw eyelashes - we’ll be able to modify it without affecting the background (the photo). For that purpose press Ctrl + Shift + N keys or click the Create New layer icon at the bottom of panel containing Layers bookmark (the second from right). The new layer in the Layers bookmark appears. It is active (highlighted with blue - it means we’re currently working on it).
OK.
Choose the brush with suitable eyelashes shape - double click on it (tool properties - Brush menu) - preview.
Cursor has eyelashes form now, if you can not see it - reduce brush size, because it is probably too big to fit the area :) To perform reduction click with the right mouse button on the picture and move the slider to the left (to about 50 pix.) or press the [ key several times.
Move the brush above the eye to the location where should be eyelashes. If the eyelash doesn’t fit close perfectly (is at a different angle) - set the cursor so it ends or begins in the correct position, the other side we’ll correct in a moment:
OK. Now click the left mouse button. Eyelash painted :)
As we see its left side is raised too high. Let’s take care of it.
Choose: Edit » Free Transform from the program menu, or press Ctrl + T keys. The rectangle outlining the eyebrow appears. There is a small circle in its centre - grab it with the mouse and move to the position where eyebrow has the proper position - it will be our axis of revolution. Then place the cursor out of the rectangle, at the opposite side of the axis of revolution - cursor turns into a curved two-headed arrow:
Click the left mouse button and move it up and down in the way that mismatched end of the eyelash placed in a correct position. When it’s OK - release the button and press Enter key.
If the eye line (under the eyelash) is too dark (unnaturally), especially from the nose side, wipe it gently with the rubber. Choose the Eraser Tool
(E) from the toolbox. In a property menu of this tool - set Mode: Brush and Opacity to about 20-30 %. Now wipe the black line with a few gentle moves, but don’t erase it entirely. Let it only fade a little:
And that’s the result (move the cursor above the photo):
All the described steps repeat for the second eye - on the new layer.
You can improve the appearance of under eye cilia too - each one on a new layer.
